Love this place! Service is very fast. The restuarant is a bit dark, but if it's not too hot outside, the patio would be a great spot with plenty of shade. Food wise, I was very surprised that New Haven has amazing Thai food! I feel like I've liked every dish that I've tried. This is my ranking: 1. Crab fried rice: lots of crab, which is a little sweet and very soft. This mixed very well with the savory fried rice. 2. Roasted duck breast fried rice: I think I like their fried rice in general. It is a little oily, and doesn't have wok hey but still good and flavorful. The duck was definitely crispy, and lack bones with is a big plus!! 3. Crispy pork belly: the skin was very crispy and the pork was delicious. The paired green veggies made the dish feel healthier haha. 4. Duck noodle soup: the noodles were great, not overcooked. The soup was good and savory, but the hint of cinnamon was a bit too strong for my liking. 5. Roasted duck Pad Thai: the duck was a bit dry. The noodles were a bit sweet but had good peanut flavor.
The food was delicious, well seasoned & big in portion. Our waitress was so sweet, we sat outside and she checked on us very frequently. NOA is just overall beautiful in the inside ! But I sat outside this time and it was nice with all the flowers ! It gave city vibessss
This place is a gem of downtown New Haven. We were stopping by for lunch during our pizza trip, and it was really nice Thai food surprisingly. The server was also very friendly and attentive. Outdoor patio is dog friendly and it was very cute and nice. I got Tom Yum noodle soup with ground pork and it was delicious and a huge portion. My husband got Num Tok Steak salad and it was perfectly cooked medium rare, soooo good! He almost licked the plate. Highly recommend this place, seems like they also have a cool bar inside and cool cocktails.
We got the crab fried rice, kalamari, steak salad, khao soi, food was amazing! Service was excellent and timely, we got outside seating and we even received water bowls for the dogs! Would come here again and soon
Came for dinner during happy hour (4-7 daily, at the bar only) and was so so pleased! I started with a lycheetini and a salmon taco off the happy hour menu. Both were incredible--the taco had a bit of kick and some wonderful brightness from the tomatoes and red onion. My only complaint was that it was a mess to eat, as the tortilla was just a bit inclined to fall apart. But I literally scraped the plate clean of the sauce that dripped out! Second drink was the mango melon daiquiri, which I asked to be made not too sweet. It was very good as well, but I liked the lycheetini best. For my main, it was cold and rainy, so I had the Bangkok Street Tom Yum Noodle Soup, which was on the specials menu. It was SO GOOD. I was a little nervous because I asked if it was "hot and sour like normal tom yum," and the bartender said not really. I think he was worried that I was going to be scared off? But this seemed like fairly normal tom yum (aka delicious), though I don't know if I've had it before with peanuts. Regardless, the broth was a total banger, the noodles clumped a bit but were great with a little stirring, and all the other toppings were on point. The only reason I won't get this every time is that I want to try everything else! As many have said, it's easy to spend a lot of money here, but I managed two drinks, an app, and an entree for $35 before tip, which was honestly pretty amazing!
I've heard so many good things about this place and it did not disappoint! My friends and I had no idea what to get so of course I turned to yelp and saw that a lot of people recommended the khao soi with duck. YOU NEED TO GET THIS DISH! It was so incredibly flavorful, rich, and just one of those dishes that makes your soul feel warm and fuzzy. We also got the crab fried rice and the pad see ew which were both really good too. The portion sizes are large so you'll definitely have some leftovers to take home. For drinks, I got the spicy passionfruit margarita which indeed was SPICY but good! My friend got the midnight spell which delicious and a very pretty purple color. If you're looking for good thai food- this is the place to come! Their happy hour menu seems great too so I will definitely be coming back for that.
If I could give 6 stars I would. Loved everything about this restaurant. From the moment you walk in, it's cozy yet lively with great music. Service was super attentive and friendly, and the food came out fast, fresh, and hot. The cocktails looked super tasty but we didn't try them. Will absolutely have to go back for happy hour though - the deals were almost too good to be true. At the bar only, you can get snacks (like $1 wings!) and low priced drinks from 4-7pm daily, weekend included! The food delivered a flavorful, modern twist on authentic Thai specialties. The papaya salad was fresh and perfectly spicy. The Noa drunken noodle came with grilled pork that was cooked to perfection. But the piece de resistance was the duck khao soi. The most delicious northern Thai curry noodle soup dish with all the traditional flavors, but then topped with tender, crispy pieces of roast duck breast. I will be dreaming about this dish until I can go back and order it again. Do not sleep on this - if you go to Noa, this absolutely has to be part of your order.
Went in for a drink at the bar. Francisco was really great and made an excellent Midnight Spell for me. The drink was an unsuspecting tequila cocktail that I underestimated. I definitely recommend if you like sweet drinks. The star of my night at NOA was the chocolate flourless cake. I'm still thinking about her to this day. The cake was very light and came with a cream on the side that complimented the chocolate and coconut shavings on top. I can't wait until I can go back and try the food. The restaurant is super chic and the ambiance was great!
NOA by September in Bangkok... New Haven Is the place to immerse yourself in the diverse cuisine of Lao & Thailand with a unique twist. You will definitely catch a restaurant x nightspot vibe in here. The golden Buddha will give you a run for your money, the food is simply the best. I can't rave about the food enough... everything we tasted was delicious, what I loved most was how the flavors were so well balanced, no sauce too overpowering... just enough to let the star ingredient shine. My favorite was the chicken laarb .. minced chicken with the right amount of heat with sticky rice (yum).. just how I like it. I'd go back to eat that again! "The recovery" which is a prefixed weekend lunch menu prices at $24 is l perfectly designed to sample more than one dish with a sweet ending of a mango sorbet or you can turn that up a notch with the unlimited mimosas $24 package. I highly recommend you give this a try!! All in all a great restaurant in downtown New Haven... coz I don't need a reason to hike up there! nonetheless this is a good excuse to do so.
